A well-traveled actor with an extensive background in a
variety of forms of experimental theatre, Brian holds a BFA in Theatre from
the University at Buffalo and an MEd. from Boston's Leslie
University.
Brian has worked locally with such theatres as Irish
Classical, New Phoenix, Theater for Change, RANT, and Skeletons in the Closet Productions.
Brian's appearances with Subversive Theatre span
all the way from our first-ever full scale production, THE
ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST (2002), to SINCERITY
FOREVER (pictured left) for the 2006 Buffalo "infringement"
Festival, ...AND
THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS. for the 2008 Buffalo "infringement"
Festival, DROP
HAMMER (2008), as well as performances in the vignettes "The
Gospel According to Beatrice" and "Unintelligent
Design" as part of the showcase sUBVERsIVE sHORTs 2009.
Most recently, Brian played the ringmaster in our
off-the-wall rendition of Eugene O'Neill's THE HAIRY APE as part of
the 2009 Buffalo "infringement" Festival -- a role he
personally created for the production.
Brian brought his skills and vision for physical
theatre to bear as the creator and director of Subversive Theatre's original
performance-art-style work OUROBOROS
in January of 2009. He also directed and acted in our recent staged
reading of DEUS EX MACHINIST (2009).
Come see Brian's latest mind-bending theatrical
endeavor as he directs our upcoming production of 84, a
multi-media, performance art-style re-interpretation of George Orwell's
dystopian
masterpiece 1984.
A long-time friend and supporter of Subversive
Theatre, Brian officially became a member of our Troupe in 2008 and became the
Troupe's Recording Officer in 2009. In Fall of 2009, he added to the
hats he wears for Subversive Theatre becoming
our Troupe's Casting Director organizing general auditions and generally
taking charge of maintaining our archives of resumes, headshots, etc.
P.S. -- Brian hates the above picture, but it's just too wild not to put
on display!!! Sorry Wales School District!
