Carlie Todoro-Rickus
Resident Lighting Designer

Carlie is a visual artist who uses light as her medium on a living canvas.  Recent designs include THE WOMAN BEFORE for The New Phoenix, IN THE MIST choreographed by William Thomas for the Zodiaque Dance Studio Ensemble.  She is also the resident lighting designer for the Configuration Dance Company.
Carlie has a degree in Fine Arts from the University at Buffalo and is also proud to design and tech for UB Center for the Arts, Studio Arena Theatre, RPM Productions, and -- of course -- Subversive Theatre!
With Subversive Theatre, Carlie crafted the lighting design for our Artie Award-winning production of WAITING FOR LEFTY (Jan 2008) at the New Phoenix Theatre and was also a part of the lighting team for NICKEL AND DIMED at the ALT Theatre (April-May of 2008).
Carlie provided the breath-taking lightscape-ography for our production of ...AND THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS. at the former Kitchen Distribution Warehouse as part of the 2008 Buffalo "infringement" Festival and again for PALACE OF THE END -- our first production at our regular performance venue The Manny Fried Playhouse.
Be on the lookout for Carlie's masterful lighting work again in our wildly experimental multi-media production of 84 coming up in January of 2010.
