A long-time activist and socialist, Hodie is glad to be a member of the
Board of Subversive Theatre. From his early days enmeshed in U.B.'s
student strikes of the late 1960s and his membership in the Marxist-Leninist
Party throughout the 1980s and '90s, through to his modern-day involvement
in the anti-war and pro-union movements, Hodie is a dedicated supporter of
subversion of all kinds.
Although not an actor by trade, Hodie has joined in on the fun reading parts
for four of our May Day stage readings -- BURY THE DEAD in 2003, ARE
YOU NOW OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN in 2004, THE MOTHER (pictured
left) and DAY'S OF THE COMMUNE in 2009. He also took part in our
staged reading of BURY THE DEAD for the Buffalo rendition of
the international "Bury the Dead Project" on September
19th, 2005.
Hodie acted in his first-ever
full production as the weenie union recording secretary in our rendition of
Manny Fried's DROP
HAMMER (2008). Hodie then took his acting interest the next
step taking on a larger role is our world debut of WATERBOARDING
BLUES (2009).
