Kurt Schneiderman*
(Director)
Subversive Theatre's Founder & Artistic Director,
Kurt is honored to help bring DROP HAMMER to life -- a play that
represents such an important connection between the arts and the world of
organized labor.
It is his hope that this play will reach a number of
working people and provide some measure of inspiration for them in the fight
against Corporate America that is so sorely needed in this country.
A playwright, director, Award-winning lighting
designer, college professor, and life-long activist, Kurt has directed the lion's share of
Subversive Theatre's productions including our Artie-Award winning WAITING FOR
LEFTY (2008).

Virginia Brannon*
(Stage Manager)
Subversive Theatre's co-Resident Dramaturg, Virginia
is a graduate of Niagara University's Theatre Department. An experienced
actress, director, and stage manager, she also works regularly with Lewiston's
Theatre-in-the-Mist and the Buffalo "infringement" Festival.
With Subversive Theatre, Virginia has staged managed
our productions of FOUNDATIONS
(2007) and WAITING
FOR LEFTY (2008). She has directed our productions of NICKEL
AND DIMED (2008) and PALACE
OF THE END (2008) as well as the vignette "Please
Remove this Stuffed Animal from My Head" as part of SUBVERSIVE
SHORTS 2007. |

Dyan O'Connell*
(Set & Lighting Designer)
Dyan is excited to be working on yet another production with Subversive Theatre. Our
Troupe's co-Resident Set Designer, she's crafted sets for our last five
productions -- WAITING
FOR LEFTY, NICKEL
AND DIMED, ...AND
THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS., and PALACE
OF THE END.
Dyan has an MFA in Stage Design from
Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a BA in Theatre
Design and Technology from the University at Buffalo. Designs in Dallas include HAMLET and SPRING
AWAKENING.

Hank Schmidt
(Assistant Set & Lighting Designer)
Hank is currently an undergraduate at the
University at Buffalo and is an applicant for a double degree in Bachelor Arts
in Theater Design and Technology as well as a Bachelor Sciences in Business
Administration for June of 2009.
Recently the set designer for a student run
production of ON THE TOWN (Nov 2008), he's
has played a role in many other student productions at UB, including Technical
Director for PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (April 2008), Assistant Lighting
Designer for THE SHAPE OF THINGS (Oct 2007).
This is Hank's first time working with Subversive
Theatre and he is very excited to be a part of the project. |

John Shotwell*
(Sound Designer)
Subversive Theatre's Resident Sound Designer, John is a freelance audio engineer and stagehand.
His extensive list of sound design credits include: New Phoenix Theatre, Road
Less Traveled Productions, Shakespeare in Delaware Park, and the Lazlo/Rozler Noise Project.
As a sound tech, John has toured the World with Rock
Groups The
John and Mary Band, Moxy Fruvous, The 10,000
Maniacs, The Horse Flies, and Enter the Haggis.
With Subversive Theatre, John has conjured soundscapes
for our productions of A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON MY WAY TO SHOOT THE CZAR
(2004), WHAT I HEARD ABOUT IRAQ (2006),
MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE
(2008), NICKEL
AND DIMED (2008), and PALACE
OF THE END (2008).

Paul Stephenson
(Costume Designer)
Recently returned from Chicago with a MA in Fashion
Design, Paul is pleased to put his talents to work on a stage
production. This is Paul's first time working with Subversive Theatre. |

Daniel Sterlace*
(Graphic Designer)
Subversive Theatre's newly enshrine Resident Graphic
Designer, Dan is a
Canisius College graduate with a BS in Digital Media Arts. At Canisius,
Dan was heavily involved with their Little Theatre Drama Club where he
frequently put his design skills to use crafting posters and playbills --
while also acting on stage and serving as Club President!
A talented designer with an abiding interest in both
alternative arts and alternative politics, Dan is a very welcome addition to
our design team.

Candice Kogut*
(Fight Choreographer)
A talented actress with stage credits that include
the New Phoenix Theatre, Alt Theatre, and Subversive Theatre, and Totally
Liegl Productions, Candice is also active behind the scenes as a fight
choreographer.
As a graduate of Niagara University's Theatre Program
she is certified in stage combat and previously provided the fight
choreography for our production of ...AND
THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS. for last summer's Buffalo "infringement"
Festival.

Jeanette Schneiderman*
(House Manager)
A member of Subversive Theatre's Board of Directors,
Jeanette is a constant source of support for our productions in many, many
ways.
Over the years she has served as the stage manager
for our productions of THE
EXCEPTION AND THE RULE (2007) and ...AND
THEY PUT HANDCUFFS ON THE FLOWERS. (2008) as well as providing
production assistance with MOTHER
DIS-COURAGE (2004-5), THE
MOTHER (2005), FOUNDATIONS
(2007), and many other projects.
We are very pleased to have her involved as one of
the House Managers for this production -- even as she prepares to welcome our
newest little Subversive into the world in mid-December!
