"The Arts are the locale for a kind of guerilla warfare . . . they're subtle so the Establishment gambles that they won't lead to anything threatening.
But the Establishment often loses that gamble."

"So many people peeing at will!
Thanks to the rebellion, the world is a much better place."
-Hope Cladwell

Subversive Theatre is thrilled to kick off our fourteenth season with the riotously ridiculous Broadway musical URINETOWN!  Artie Award-winning Director Jeffrey Coyle (who directed last season's revolutionary musical JOE HILL'S LAST WILL) has assembled an exciting team of wild and crazy artists to bring to life this anything-but-traditional Broadway extravaganza.

URINETOWN! offers a deliciously tongue-in-cheek look at a fantastical world where corporate fat cats own every urinal and there's a tax to be paid for every visit to the john.  Disgruntled proletarians groan as their bladders swell.  Chipper policemen happily obey their corporate overlords as two-faced politicians grab up every bribe.  BUT WAIT!  Revolution is brewing amidst the unwashed (and un-relieved) masses and even the daughter of the biggest fat cat in town is drawn into the upheaval as she gives her heart to a burgeoning revolutionary.  It's a wonderfully outrageous spoof of capitalism that hits WAY to close to home as it lampoons everything from West Side Story to Mao's Little Red Book with a whirlwind of explosive dance numbers and toe-tapping tunes that are just as gleefully over-the-top as the story itself.

"Why, dreams only come true in happy musicals and a few Hollywood movies... and this most certainly isn't either of those.  Dreams must be crushed."
-Officer Lockstock

URINETOWN! features the acting talents of Ryan Kaminski, Jenn Stafford, Michael Starzynski, Jeffrey Coyle*, Erin Coyle, Susana Breese, Bethany Burrows Gruendike, Tyler Brown, Michael Wachowiak, Chris Andreana, Matt Mooney, Jennel Pruneda, Jake Hayes, Dave Spychalski, and Sara Jo Kukulka.  Choreography is by Doug Weyand.  Musical Direction is by Allan Paglia with live music by Allan Paglia on keyboard, Larry Albert on bass guitar, Keith Galantowics on reeds.

Set design is by Jeffrey Coyle*, with Lighting Design by Subversive Theatre's Founder & Artistic Director Kurt "Vile" Schneiderman*, and Costume Design by Raechel Sager & Mindy Purdy.

"Life's a beating, honey.
The sooner you embrace that, the better."

-Caldwell B. Cladwell
